    • The company is located in Taizhou, a fast-growing port city in southeastern China. Hisun has enjoyed half century of tremendous growth, and is now a leader in manufacturing pharmaceutical ingredients. With over 3000 employees, a third of whom are highly skilled technicians, Hisun proudly leads the industry in China. In 2000, Hisun became a listed company on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (code: 600267). 

     

    In 2001, Hisun established its R&D Center, which focuses on innovations in synthetic chemistry, microbiological fermentation, biotechnology, plant chemistry and dosage formulation techniques. With 150 researchers and over 50 laboratories, the center develops APIs for use in oncology, cardiovascular medicine, anti-biotic and anti-parasitic drugs, endocrinology, immune inhibitors, and anti-depressants. Hisun exports 75% of its API production to over 30 countries, mainly the US and Europe.

     

    The company maintains relationships with more than 30 of Chinese most renowned academic institutions and cooperates with various overseas research institutes in the United States, Japan and Europe. It also partners with top multinationals in the areas of technology transfer and contract research. Hisun annually re-invests more than 8% of its total sales back into R&D. 

     
    In 1989, Hisun Pharmaceutical initiated a process for meeting the high standards of American and European market entrance. The first series of FDA approvals were granted in 1992, and following seven FDA inspections of Hisun facilities, the company now has a total of 36 FDA product approvals, 11 EU COS approvals and over 94 products registered in major pharmaceutical markets worldwide. Hisun's operation strictly follows cGMP.
     
    Hisun was awarded ISO14000 certification in 2001 and has always adhered to strict standards of environmental management. With investments of over 12 million US dollars in environmental protection facilities, and in conjunction with various environmental protection organizations, Hisun has implemented clean production techniques and has successfully controlled its wastewater and air emissions. Hisun has also demonstrated its concern for social responsibility with more than three million US dollars worth of donations to natural disaster relief funds and support for underprivileged students.
