    • Kawin has the first fully automatic production line in China, with an output of 100 million units of interferon per year. The production line consists of the most advanced equipment in the bio-pharma industry. With all these advantages, Kawin hopes to cooperate with other pharmaceutical companies from both home and abroad in contract manufacturing of water injection and lyophilized injection.

     

    Kawin was founded in 1999 with the registered capital $20.43 million. It is located in Beijing Economic-Technology Development Area (BDA). The company occupies an area of 16,000 square meters and the construction area of 14,000 square meters. Kawin is a high-tech enterprise recognized by Beijing Science Committee.

     

    Beijing Kawin was applied by the Ministry of Health and approved by the State Planning Commission (now the State Development and Planning Commission). It is the State Research Center for Viro-Biotechnology Engineering established in the form of an enterprise with the joint investment of the State Development and Planning Commission and China Dalian International Cooperation (Group) Stock Ltd (CDIG), and is a duly subsidiary unit under the China Center for Disease Prevention and Control (China CDC).

     
    Beijing Kawin, with State Research Center for Viro-Biotechnology Engineering as the key institute, is a pioneer in the technological innovation field since when it was founded. The State Research Center for Viro-Biotechnology Engineering is led by a well-known molecular biologist and academician Mr. Hou Yunde, also with many doctors returning from overseas and masters. It undertakes several national "863" and "973" key research projects. As a national research center, it represents the highest level of China in industrialized research. In 2002 Beijing Kawin was awarded as "National Key Project Enterprise".
     
    At present, Beijing Kawin makes the best use of the advantage of "State Research Center for Viro- Biotechnology Engineering", and attaches great importance to products. Based on two fields "Anti-virus" and "Brain nerves", Kawin now has Human Recombinant Interferon series (pre-filled and vial), and several forward products such as Ganciclovir for Injection, Pyritinol Hydrochloride for Injection, Naloxone for Injection and Sodium Ozagrel for Injection. In the future, Beijing Kawin will gradually expand its product extension, and finally achieve the great leap from strategy of product to the strategy of technique integration.
