Officials indicates possible changes in hospital drug pricing 9/8/2005
Various Chinese government officials revealed recently that the government is planning to withdraw privileges of state-owned medical institutions in marking up prices of the drug products they sell – meaning that these hospitals will only be allowed to sell drug products at the same prices they bought them.  The measure is an effort to cut down prices of pharmaceutical products, and is only one of the measures to reform healthcare financing mechanism by the Ministry of Health, according to an official of the Ministry.
