    Incidence of senile dementia rise in Beijing 9/8/2005
    A recently-published three-year survey (1997-2000) of senior citizens in Beijing shows that the morbidity of senile dementia is 5.1% among Beijingers over the age of 60, and 15.9% among Beijing resident over 80.  Beijing now has 100,000 patients of senile dementia, and each year 25,000 new patients are added.  According to conservative estimates, China has a total of 6 million people with senile dementia.
