BioDevice 2014
is to be held on 28-29 May in Shanghai, China. The summit features two related tracks: IIMD track that will focus on the recent advances in implantable and interventional medical devices, and BIOMED track that will provide in-depth technical and business information on cutting biological medical devices.
Extended life expectancy and the ageing of population spur the demand for more sophisticated medical devices. Currently, although there is still a wide gap between China's medical devices industry and that in the developed countries, China's medical device market has developed at a relatively rapid pace in the past few years and will soon be the world's second largest medical device market. Research suggests that the global medical devices market has reached US$50bn, offering excellent opportunities for the biomaterials suppliers. Materials are critical for many innovations of implantable and interventional medical devices. It's said that we will move into the era of regenerative implants, as future implants holds the promise of regenerating damaged tissues and organs.
