    Join the solutions-driven discussion at Healthcare in China 2012. This high-level forum will convene regulators, heads of hospitals, industry and multilaterals and leading academics for a thought-provoking debate on the most pressing healthcare issues in China.

    Good progress has been made through the recent health reforms in China. The country is addressing its healthcare infrastructure with a new sense of resolve, and the social safety net is starting to take shape. However, with a severe shortage of professional care providers, a stark imbalance between urban and rural health insurance schemes, and a lack of clarity on new revenue models for providers, questions are arising about how China will achieve the goals of its health reforms.

    How should the Chinese government tackle the challenges in current healthcare reforms? How can the social-security net be widened to ease patients’ financial burden? What role should the private sector play in the reforms? How should the government deal with a pandemic of chronic diseases, which are becoming a threat to economic development?
