    Anti-infectives continue to dominate Chinese hospital drug purchase in 2004 10/17/2005
    According the 2004 Chinese hospital drug purchase audit by the National Pharmaceutical Economic Information Network in China, systemic antibiotics continue to the No.1 leading therapeutic category among all drug products purchased by hospitals in 2004.

    The leading ten products accounted for 17.17% of the total hospital drug purchase in the year, and most of them are antibiotic products.

    The No.1 drug by hospital drug purchase value is beta-lactam category compound antibiotic product, Cefoperazone/Sulbactam Sodium, and its estimated national annual hospital puchase value is RMB 2.7 billion.  Ranked No.2 is quinolone category antibiotic levo-ofloxacin with an estimated national annual hospital puchase value of RMB 2.3 billion.
