The number of medical personnel per capita in China has surpassed the world's average, with a total of 6.35 million medical workers across the country.

The statistics come from the Chinese Ministry of Health, and reveal that amongst all the medical workers in China, there are 1.94 million certified physicians and assistant physicians and 1.35 million registered nurses, while the number of qualified medical staff continues to rise.

However, China also faces some major problems, such as an imbalance in the distribution of medical personnel between urban and rural areas, and a shortage of medical personnel with good professional backgrounds.
