BEIJING, Feb 16, 2006 -- China's nine leading drugmakers have decided to raise a plea against India's antidumping investigation on the penicillin industrial salt imported from China, unveiled China Chamber of Commerce of Medicines and Health Products Importers and Exporters.

The commerce chamber will not only organize them to respond to the investigation but also provide necessary support.

The nine pharmaceutical companies like North China Pharmaceutical Group and Harbin Pharmaceutical Group take the majority part of the total capacity of penicillin industrial salt in the country.

India is the world's biggest consumption market for penicillin industrial salt, and it announced the antidumping investigation towards such products originated from China at the end of January. The injury investigation period is from October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005.
