Residents in Beijing also increased their spending by 8.6% to reach RMB 13,244 per capita last year. Among the major categories of expenditures, food still accounted for the largest share and communications registered the highest growth. Spending on housing, however, was the only category that showed a decrease.
Beijing residents spent RMB 640.9 on pharmaceutical products per person last year, up 14.5% year-on-year.
The statistics also show that the family income of residents in Beijing’s urban areas reached RMB 19,533 per capita last year, up 14.5% year-on-year.
