PFIZER plans to invest US$25 million over the next five years in the China Research and Development Center, which it opened in Shanghai yesterday.

The center provides drug development support capabilities and biometric expertise to Pfizer China and its Asian operations, the US-based pharmaceutical firm said.

Company officials said the center will provide input to study design, data management and statistical analysis for global clinical trials.
